The Hydra was the offspring of Typhon and Echidna.
Siblings of the Hydra were said to be the Nemean
Lion, the Stymphalian birds, the Chimaera,and Cerberus.

The Hydra of Lerna was killed by Heracles as one
of his Twelve Labours.
